Mission Funding
Given our mission context in Kentucky, we know that there are God-hungry people in our communities, and we know we have something of deep value to offer them. Among the denominations in our region, the Episcopal Church has a unique understanding of the grace and forgiveness of God. We need to spread the message about — and invite others to share — in God’s grace and forgiveness.
Our mission context is therefore the reality of the lives of people and communities in our area of Kentucky. What we do in mission and ministry must respond to the real human needs and concerns of the people in our communities. Knowing our mission context gives us a solid understanding of the opportunities and challenges for mission in our local areas.
The Diocese of Kentucky is committed to funding mission initiatives that clearly and directly respond to the mission context out of which the initiative arises.

- Design of project to meet goals and measurable objectives
- Level of funding needed
- Innovation from standard procedure
- Resources needed outside of funding
- The Big Picture throughout the diocese
How to Apply for Funding
Applications for 2027 Mission Funding are now being recieved through June 1st, 2026.
Please note that the application is submitted via google forms and the form now has two versions. The version for Congregations and the version for Agencies & Organizations. Google Forms mesh seamlessly with gmail, and we encourage you to open a gmail account to complete the application if you do not already have one. Please contact missionfunding@episcopalky.org if you would like to have an application emailed to you directly.

If you do not have access to the technology to complete this application online, please format your responses according to either the Application for Congregations or the Application for Agencies & Organizations, as found on this webpage. A PDF of the Congregational Form can be found here. A PDF of the Agencies Form can be found here. Completed applications may be emailed to missionfunding@episcopalky.org.

Please feel free to use the Chair or a member of the Mission Funding Committee as a sounding board when completing your application.
In addition, please be sure the appropriate leadership within your congregation/agency are in agreement with the application. Likewise, please include a signed Covenant of Mission Form with your application.
